All Marketing Notes

Building BetulBetul.com is making me think more carefully about what makes a website useful, discoverable and worth returning to.

The platform focuses on Malaysian people, businesses and local stories. Its direction is simple: Real People. Real Stories.

Turning that idea into a website involves many small decisions. What should a story explain? How should its title read? Where should it appear? What should readers explore next?

These decisions connect directly to SEO. They also influence how I would approach website and content projects through DigitaLee Marketing.

The lessons below are reflections on building the platform, rather than claims about ranking improvements or traffic growth.

1. Every Page Needs a Clear Reason to Exist

A storytelling platform can cover many subjects. BetulBetul.com features people, companies and local perspectives, so maintaining a clear purpose for each article matters.

Before developing a story, I want to know what readers should understand after reading it.

A founder profile might explain the person behind a company. A business feature might introduce its services and background. An interview might explore someone’s perspective on a particular question.

Those are different purposes, even when the same business appears in more than one article.

For example, a story about DigitaLee Marketing’s background should offer something different from a feature explaining its property marketing services.

What I Would Apply to DigitaLee Marketing Projects

I would give each proposed page a short brief identifying its audience, main question and intended next step.

For an SME website, that would help distinguish a service page from an educational article. The service page explains what customers can engage the company to do. The article helps them understand a related issue.

Clear purposes make content planning more focused and reduce unnecessary repetition.

2. Specific Information Makes Content More Useful

Building BetulBetul.com keeps bringing me back to the value of detail.

Describing a business as “innovative” tells readers very little. Explaining who founded it, what it offers, which customers it serves and how its work is carried out gives them something concrete.

A founder story becomes more meaningful when it explains the motivation behind starting the business. A company feature becomes more useful when it describes actual services and links to relevant official information.

These details require research, clarification and checking.

What I Would Apply to DigitaLee Marketing Projects

I would ask clients for the information customers need before making an enquiry:

  • What does the service include?
  • Who is it suitable for?
  • What affects the quotation?
  • What does the process involve?
  • Which locations does the business serve?
  • What evidence can support its claims?

The answers would shape the page. Keywords would help describe its subject naturally, while the substance would come from the business itself.

3. A Good Title Should Set an Accurate Expectation

A title has an important job on BetulBetul.com. It needs to identify the subject and give readers a reason to open the story.

A title containing only a person’s name may provide too little context for someone who has never heard of them. Adding a relevant company, role or subject can make the story easier to understand.

At the same time, the article needs to deliver what the title promises.

I want titles to be descriptive and interesting without exaggerating the importance of the story.

What I Would Apply to DigitaLee Marketing Projects

I would review page titles against their actual content.

For example, “Our Services” gives little context outside a website’s navigation. A title naming the service and relevant location may communicate the subject more clearly, provided the page genuinely covers that service and area.

For articles, I would start with the reader’s question and check that the answer is developed in the body.

4. Publishing Is Only One Part of Discoverability

An article can be published successfully and still be difficult to find within a website.

For BetulBetul.com, that makes navigation, story listings and related links important parts of the publishing process.

A reader who discovers a founder profile may also want to understand the company. Someone reading a property business feature may be interested in another relevant industry story.

I want those connections to be easy to follow.

What I Would Apply to DigitaLee Marketing Projects

I would include a linking review when publishing or updating content.

A practical service guide could link to the relevant service page. That service page could point to a useful explanation of the process or a suitable project example.

I would also check for important pages that have few meaningful routes leading to them.

The purpose is to help readers move through related information with a clear sense of where each link leads.

5. Trust Depends on How Information Is Presented

A business story carries responsibility. Readers should be able to understand which statements are established facts, which are someone’s views and which describe future plans.

For BetulBetul.com, I want names, dates, quotations and business details checked before publication. I also want relationships to be clear.

Because I founded BetulBetul.com and DigitaLee Marketing, coverage of DigitaLee on the platform should be understood in that context. I would not present it as an independent endorsement.

Similarly, a feature or backlink should not be treated as a guarantee of SEO results.

What I Would Apply to DigitaLee Marketing Projects

I would build factual review into the content process.

Qualifications, awards, customer claims, service coverage and testimonials should be supported by appropriate information and permissions.

Where results are discussed, I would want the scope and context explained. Accurate content gives customers a stronger basis for assessing the business.

6. Images Need an Editorial Purpose

BetulBetul.com uses visual content to introduce stories. That makes image selection part of the explanation.

A portrait helps readers identify a person. A business photograph can show premises or work. An illustrative cover can introduce a topic, but it should not imply that a scene documents a real event when it does not.

Consistency also matters. Clear cover layouts and readable titles help give a growing collection of stories a recognisable presentation.

What I Would Apply to DigitaLee Marketing Projects

I would plan images alongside the written content.

That would include choosing suitable photographs, checking permission to use them, writing descriptive alternative text and reviewing how they appear on mobile.

For generated or illustrative visuals, I would consider whether a label is needed to avoid misleading readers.

The goal would be a page where the images help explain the subject.

7. A Growing Website Needs Maintenance

As BetulBetul.com develops, I need to think about the existing collection as well as the next article.

Business information can change. Official links may stop working. New stories may create useful connections to earlier coverage.

That makes content maintenance an ongoing responsibility.

A story does not necessarily need a complete rewrite. Sometimes the useful task is verifying a detail, replacing a broken link or improving a section that lacks context.

What I Would Apply to DigitaLee Marketing Projects

I would propose a review schedule for important pages.

Priority would go to content affecting customer decisions: service details, contact information, processes, pricing explanations and business credentials.

I would also keep a record of substantial changes so the team knows what was updated and why.

8. Lessons Need Evidence Before They Become Performance Claims

Building a website can produce plenty of ideas about what might work. Testing those ideas requires evidence.

For BetulBetul.com, I would use search and audience information to investigate questions such as which stories appear for relevant searches, how readers discover them and whether related content receives attention.

An increase in activity would still need context. A short-term change alone would not prove that one edit caused it.

What I Would Apply to DigitaLee Marketing Projects

I would agree on useful measures before evaluating the work.

For an SME, that could include relevant search visibility, qualified enquiries and progress towards appointments or sales.

I would combine those measures with customer feedback. Repeated questions may reveal missing information that traffic figures alone do not explain.

How These Lessons Shape My Approach

Building BetulBetul.com is teaching me to pay attention to the relationship between a story, its presentation and the wider website.

A useful article needs a clear purpose. Its facts need checking. Its title should reflect its content. Readers need sensible routes to related information.

These are principles I would bring to DigitaLee Marketing projects, adapted to each business’s customers, services and resources.
