All Marketing Notes

Match the visitor’s expectation

A visitor should recognise the offer they clicked on. Keep the page headline and opening explanation aligned with the ad, post or link that brought them there. A clear connection helps people decide whether they are in the right place.

Explain value in plain language

Describe what you offer, who it is for and what the customer can expect. Use concrete details that you can support. Avoid promises that the business cannot reliably deliver, and answer the questions that normally come up in a first enquiry.

Make the next step easy

Choose one primary action and give it a clear label. Ask only for information needed to start the conversation. On mobile, check that the form is comfortable to complete and that important information is easy to read.

Review more than clicks

A busy page is not necessarily producing useful enquiries. Review whether people understand the offer and whether the enquiries match the service. Use those observations to refine the message, form and follow-up process.

Your next step

Open your landing page on your phone. Can you explain the offer and identify the next action without searching? Ask someone unfamiliar with the business to do the same, then compare your answers.
